Corporate KYB & Global Registry Checks

Diliguard provides Corporate KYB software that automatically parses international registries. We extract exact UBO hierarchies to accelerate B2B onboarding.

What Is Corporate KYB Software?

Diliguard’s Corporate KYB software verifies that a company exists, resolves its beneficial owners, and validates its VAT and banking details by querying primary registries directly rather than relying on cached third-party data. It returns exact entity records and shareholder percentages, not a pass/fail score.

How Corporate KYB Software Works

  • Global Legal Entity Lookup: Queries the GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation) database, a worldwide standard, to confirm a company’s official registered name, entity status, jurisdiction, and legal form.
  • UBO Tracing and Ownership Extraction: Searches corporate registries across the UK and the 27 EU member states to identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners and calculate exact ownership percentages, including layered and nominee structures.
  • EU VAT Validation: Validates a European VAT number through the official EU Commission VIES system, confirming the registered business name and address for EU entities.
  • Offshore Leaks and Shell Company Exposure: Cross-references entity names against the ICIJ Offshore Leaks database (Panama Papers, Pandora Papers, Paradise Papers) to surface hidden tax haven parent companies.
  • Corporate Adverse Media and Regulatory Fines: Surfaces negative news coverage and enforcement actions tied to the corporate entity.

What Diliguard Returns

A Global Corporate Lookup returns an Entity Card with the company’s official Legal Entity Name and LEI number, plus Entity Status (“Active” or otherwise), Jurisdiction, and Legal Form, alongside a Registered Address Card. A UBO search returns one card per beneficial owner, showing Name and Role, an Ownership Percentage badge (for example “75% Share / Control”), and, where available, nationality, country of residence, birth month and year, and appointment date. An EU VAT check returns a Valid/Invalid status alongside the registered business name and address.

Data Sources and Coverage

GLEIF entity lookup is genuinely global, since the LEI system is a worldwide standard. UBO tracing is limited to the UK and the 27 EU member states, not global coverage, because that is the jurisdictional scope of the registries this module queries. EU VAT validation is EU-only by definition, run through the official VIES system. Offshore leaks correlation draws on ICIJ’s Panama Papers, Pandora Papers, and Paradise Papers datasets, which are global in origin but limited to what those specific investigations captured.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Diliguard trace UBOs for companies registered outside the UK and EU?

Not through the dedicated UBO Scanner, which covers the UK and the 27 EU member states specifically. For companies outside that scope, Global Corporate Lookup (GLEIF) confirms the entity’s legal registration globally, and Offshore Leaks checks for any connection to ICIJ-documented shell structures, but neither substitutes for direct UBO registry access outside the UK/EU.

What ownership threshold does UBO tracing use?

Diliguard extracts the actual ownership percentage held by each identified beneficial owner rather than applying a fixed cutoff, so a shareholder at 15% and one at 75% are both returned with their exact stake, not collapsed into a single flag.

Can Diliguard verify a company that has no EU VAT registration?

Yes. VAT validation is one of several checks, not a prerequisite. Global Corporate Lookup and UBO tracing (where the entity is UK or EU-registered) run independently of VAT status.

How current is the registry data behind a KYB check?

Global Corporate Lookup and UBO tracing query the underlying registries directly at the time of the request rather than returning a cached snapshot, so the result reflects the registry’s current state.

Where This Fits

Corporate KYB is the ownership-resolution layer behind M&A Intelligence, Trust & Company Service Providers, Accountants & Tax Advisors, and Estate Agents, wherever a corporate buyer, borrower, or client needs its true owner identified before a transaction proceeds.

Architecture and Integration

The KYB engine is built for high-throughput compliance environments. Platforms integrate the logic via the Developer API at api.diliguard.com, authenticated with an API key created from the portal’s Settings page, to verify merchants and B2B partners during onboarding. Usage is credit-metered with visible success rate and latency stats, and the same lookups are available to AI agents through the @sluxia/diliguard-mcp MCP server.
